Rarobang Coffee is a typical drink of Ambon City and is well known to the coffee lovers worldwide. This drink is a concoction of locals by mixing the typical spices of Ambon in the presentation.

The coffee drink is already known to have a soothing benefits and had the pleasure of its own compared to other hot beverage, but supposedly through Rarobang coffee, the Ambonese predecessors want more benefit than just a delicious soothing coffee. They want these drinks also to have health benefits for those who enjoy it and it is derived from the spices that had always been the main crop in Moluccas.

Rarobang coffee has the ingredients of Arabica coffee, ginger, cloves, cinnamon, sugar, lemongrass, and beans. Strong aroma of coffee has been reinforced with a blend of spices that is warming. Typical characteristics of this rarobang coffee are the sprinkling of toasted walnut kernels with a distinctive aroma and savory, bitter, and sweet flavor. 

The spices contained in this coffee make it a herbal product which is good for health. According to the study, the essential oils contained in the cloves have an anesthetic and an antimicrobial functions, often used to eliminate bad breath and to relieve toothache. Eugenol contained in cloves is used by the dentists to soothe tooth nerve.

Various studies have shown that ginger has an antioxidant feature. Some of the major components in ginger such as gingerol, shogaol, and gingeron have an antioxidant activity over vitamin E. Moreover gingerol compounds can act as anti-coagulants, which prevents blood clotting.
